Duck Squad and Men

Ok, we’re about to get really close and personal here. Some of you know that I am a single woman with two children. I have a full time job, a part time side hustle, this blog life and many other things.
I am a woman with hidden talents and talents I realize I don’t have that I sure could use….
… being patient and understanding <—That’s an example of talents I wish I had, 🤣.
Alas…I don’t have those particular qualities; so, instead, we’re stuck with trying to keep our mouth shut…or full with food or a drink, so as to not become disrespectful without at least giving the thinking thing a try.

Time Will Tell…

“Time will tell” is my answer to almost everything.

I have so much on my mind…sometimes I get caught up in the whirlwind of thoughts that my physical body just doesn’t move. Which reality is real? The one we put our eyes on, or the one our mind sees? Either way, it’s an interesting topic.

My mind goes places my body can’t. My mind is free of the problems the world brings….like war, and world hunger. I see fields of dandelions and roses….snow on the beach with a glass of something tasty and delicious in my hand, it’s sooo good I can’t even really describe what it is that I’m holding, and witnessing people peacefully living; co-existing in a world that is safe.

Theater and Kickball

Well, UIL-One Act Play late night rehearsals are over. No more late night dinners…no more waiting in the car for more than an hour…no more figuring out how to get my little one home, no more stressful talk about actors having a hard time with lines. Theater season is over folks. It’s not only a stressful time for Emoree, but for me too….

Towards the end of the season, I humbly volunteered for another project. “Humbly” being the proactive word choice here….Let me tell you how that went down…

Childhood Dreams

When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up…and are you doing it now?

Most conversations I had with my parents (even as a child) had something to do with serving in the US Military….and I was able to do that. I don’t really remember wanting to be a princess, or a singer….or a housewife, or a dragon slayer. I loved sports, but wasn’t that great at them, so I knew being a professional athlete wasn’t in the cards…I hated doing the dishes, so anything culinary wasn’t going to happen either-haha.

For some reason, serving the nation in some capacity was all I ever wanted to do….maybe it was the way my fathers shoulders straightened and chin sprout up when he spoke of his father in the Army or the memories I have of visiting my father on his Navy vessel. I remember the world we were walking into…uniforms and order–salutes, “yes ma’am’s” and respectfulness across the board. I wanted to be a part of that; or at least understand the gratifying feeling of having my own story to tell.

I’m back!!

Hello everyone, it has been a loooooong time since I’ve posted anything about anything. My daughters and I have gone through some changes (always for the better). It took a toll on us for a few months…and now, I’m happy to report, we are happy! I’ve put on a few-ish pounds…have a lot less money to my name….have totally embraced the thrift store vibe and I’m good with it! 🙂

So, let’s get to it! I hope my islanders and fellow South Texans are faring well from Hurricane Harvey and I hope Hurricane Irma didn’t do too much damage to my Floridians. I feel like a certain amount of normalcy has been restored. AEP worked like dogs getting the power restored! It was amazing watching this little community rise from the ashes.

I decided to stay in Corpus for the storm. The day of Hurricane Harvey, my mind kept wanting to do the logical thing and leave town, but my heart and my intuition kept me here. I turned a closet into a bunker, just in case I was wrong; but in the end, I never lost power…we always had water…and only suffered losing branches from some trees. I felt so grateful that my daughter’s and I were okay through it all….although it was a very scary event!

Love to all!

Reality Alert: When Did We Become Adults?

A few things have happened over the last couple of weeks that brought REAL perspective to my life. Hardships, difficult news, and worst of all, Death—all happening within days of each other. All happening to people I love.

Now, I love and respect all walks of life…BUT there is a special place for our sisters, brothers, parents and children. Right? I don’t react (or shouldn’t be expected to react) the same way to death within my family as I would to a friend or someone else who is experiencing death within their family. My feelings are subjective; how close am I to a person or how deeply I feel about the event.

It’s easy to have objective opinions when we don’t know the people involved or aren’t very close to a cause or event. Though, from time to time, we will be objective to something that we may have been subjective to maybe a year ago. Why?
My reasoning is that we have become more experienced and less radical. We consider other points of view and are more humble with our words.

Some of us think before we act and someone of us don’t know how to stay put before a good plan is in place. I think that’s okay…sometimes. I’m always open to other’s reasoning and I respect ways of life and why choices are made. Personally, I am not driven by another family’s way of life…what works for them won’t necessarily work for me or mine.

I suppose in the end it’s just a part of something bigger that none of us will ever truly understand–in this dimension anyway…in the land of the living…in this time. Every thought, every decision, everything is woven in the fabric that makes this OUR lives.

Some people are working out tomorrow or are making plans for two weeks from today…I’m still trying to figure out yesterday! Adulting is hard…

Post Holidays, Ending 2016

Merry Meet, Hello, Hola, and Mahalo!
I hope everyone’s post holidays are going well, ie…cleanup, tree removal, ornament storage, and finding new places for your beautiful gifts!

I’m having a hard time…wah, wah, wah…I know, but I really am and I’m frustrated. I have a teeny tiny two bedroom apartment that four people and a cat live in and we lose square footage with every inch my daughter’s grow…or every shoe size they grow into!

Crystal of Manifestation-Crystal Quartz

A few weeks ago I went to one of my favorite corners of the book store, the Metaphysical section. A woman turns to me after a few moments and starts spilling her entire life story. She clearly needed some guidance…I’m not always sure if I’m the one who’s supposed to help them, but this one was all too clear….I didn’t have to read her aura, I didn’t need to hear anymore of her life and I didn’t really want to be in my favorite corner of that bookstore anymore. She had some karmic energy (I imagine still does), that needed to fulfill its course. She seemed somewhat desperate to help herself and had a handful of books of many subjects resting in her arms.

Sometimes reminding people of their own faith seems to help move things along. Discussing things people aren’t familiar with can be very scary to some people, so staying within a comfortable boundary is a big deal with me. Some people think their problems are going to be solved overnight and others don’t think they deserve anything that comes to them. We’ve all heard it growing up, “be careful of the consequences”, “don’t forget the three fold law”. No matter what language or religion you talk about, hear about or ask about, there’s always something to be warned about, especially what to expect when you are purposefully harmful or cause trouble to others.

The young lady said she was Christian. It’s too easy to slap our hands together, look up at the sky and ask for courage to get through a situation….but we forget about the person or persons who are doing the un-doing. I asked her to think about the person who is causing her harm…maybe he needs some help remembering his humanity. Her prayer should be about him to find his way again, not about her to be safe.
(It was mostly word bashing going on, so no physical harm to the young lady–we all know the number to the PoPo!)

She didn’t seem interested in what I had to say, so she pulls out a crystal quarts from her wallet. She said she was given this stone and she didn’t know how to use it. After asking her what she knew about the stone (which was nothing), I went into detail about it’s metaphysical properties. I then realized that perhaps someone had given it to her with ill intentions.

Upon receiving a stone as a gift, it’s important to ask if the stone was charged with any specific energy. Anyone can cleanse a stone upon it’s receipt. Wash it with some faucet water, or ocean water–depending on your personal preferences and then let it sit in the moon light, ready to receive its next intention.

Had the young woman done this right away, she may not have endured as much as she had. The stone may have had ill intentions.

1*This stone can literally transform pressure or heat into electromagnetic energy, and vice versa. Its ability to focus, amplify, store and transform energy is used throughout the technology world in ultrasound devices, watches, microphones, radio transmitters and receivers, memory chips in computers and other electronic circuitry.

1*The same properties of energy amplification, programmability and memory also make the Clear Quartz the most versatile and multidimensional stone in the mineral kingdom for healing, meditation, expansion of consciousness, communication with guides, past-life recall, attracting love or prosperity, or virtually any purpose. However, with this power comes responsibility. To benefit from Rock Crystal’s blessings, one must feel in harmony with it and deserve its gifts. Intent other than good inevitably brings harm back to oneself.

So, as mentioned above, the crystal quartz can be anything you want it to be. The young lady had this stone in her possession for months and didn’t know what she had.

The Power of Samhain

I write this with a nice cold glass of wine to my upper right hand and a form of unexpected inspiration to my direct right. What haven’t you read…what don’t you know? Two questions I ask readers of particular subjects. I visited Mary today, owner of a shop I frequent weekly (daily in some instances). I originally went to purchase a candle to evoke Inspiration, and instead, she led me to her books and I instantly remembered that Halloween isn’t just a time for the dead, but a time for magikal creatures as well! So, let us begin… A welcoming into the coldest season of the year and a spiritual new year; two seasons in one. Though, as most are familiar, Samhain is also a celebration of the dead. It is the most magikal and frightening times of the whole year. As winter comes along, the hearth is lit and warm. You’ve harvested your final herbs, fruits and vegetables. You’ve prepared as best as you can and now it is a time for all to gather ‘round the fire and hear stories of your passed loved ones. Ask them to be present—an invitation, not a séance.14063803_10206909204917264_4415392042754109570_n2

Samhain is commonly known as the Day of the Dead. It is also known to be the time of year when the veil between the two worlds is at its thinnest; allowing spirits, good and bad, to pass through to both sides, without a magikal call. Fae is a spiritual being. A magikal creature where the Otherworld is their domain; a dimension of Earth where that of the dead, those that refuse to move on, exist. The Otherworld, a fairy mound; an existence close to our own, which connects with ours from time to time and from place to place. Fairies are nature spirits, who tend growing things. They are the elemental entities of Air, Fire, Water, and Earth; they are the ancient goddesses and gods. Some are powerful, some are awesome, some are petrifying; plenty are charming and helpful; but all are fascinating.

Should you want an opportunity on Samhain to glimpse the Otherworld, you need remember that the Fae may expect an offering.

The Fae are nature spirits! Being outside in nature is prevalent, preferably in an in-between. Go where grass meets the woods, where land meets water. Meditate at midnight, where one day isn’t yet the other. You must use all of your gifts to sense the Fae. This physical world only works for people like you and I; supernatural and mystical creatures can be seen using your mind’s eye. You might be able to hear Fae music or just “know” that they are present with you. If you have an idea of the kind of Fae you will meet (or glimpse), whether it be Cerridwen-the Underworld goddess and Fairy Hag, or Leanna—bringer of creative inspiration, or The Sphinx—a guardian of ancient mysteries , be sure to have a sincere offering present. Leftovers of cake, milk or wine and shiny things…all Fae love shiny things…and wine….did I say wine already? The offering must be sincere! Do not attempt harm to the Fae, or they will sense your negative energy and do unto you what you would do unto them.

So…what will you draw you in this Samhain?

Interview with the Psychic-Mary Rohde

Happy Samhain to you all! I recently stumbled upon an opportunity to get closer to a friend of mine (who also happens to own my favorite metaphysical shop in the Bay Area of Corpus Christi, Texas). Her shop is full of wonderful trinkets, loads of reiki charged candles, dream catchers, stones and crystals, dried herbs, incense, jewelry, journals, books, and so much more. Her space is wickedly inviting (no pun intended), and she’s beautiful company. You are immediately entranced with the scent of the day upon entering her store and probably some chatter that always includes educating her customers about the metaphysical world. She is full of love and positive intentions. She is also HUMAN. I wanted so much to highlight this aspect of our psychic friends. They have a personal life and views of their own on top of their abilities, which can be exhausting. Mary is wonderful and uses her abilities to heal and educate. I hope you enjoy reading as much as I enjoyed interviewing!
