Interview with the Psychic-Mary Rohde

Happy Samhain to you all! I recently stumbled upon an opportunity to get closer to a friend of mine (who also happens to own my favorite metaphysical shop in the Bay Area of Corpus Christi, Texas). Her shop is full of wonderful trinkets, loads of reiki charged candles, dream catchers, stones and crystals, dried herbs, incense, jewelry, journals, books, and so much more. Her space is wickedly inviting (no pun intended), and she’s beautiful company. You are immediately entranced with the scent of the day upon entering her store and probably some chatter that always includes educating her customers about the metaphysical world. She is full of love and positive intentions. She is also HUMAN. I wanted so much to highlight this aspect of our psychic friends. They have a personal life and views of their own on top of their abilities, which can be exhausting. Mary is wonderful and uses her abilities to heal and educate. I hope you enjoy reading as much as I enjoyed interviewing!

I hope they know…

flower-life-and-deathOver the last few weeks I have made it mandatory to meditate daily. Finding your Zen isn’t easy. It’s not always about finding answers. I think a lot about my daughters and their personalities. I think a lot about the decisions they will come to make and how those decisions will affect their lives….and mine–ha.
Lately, I have been thinking about not thinking at all. I find it difficult to clear my thoughts and let my mind just be…do you find it difficult?

This morning I had an epiphany, more-so, remembered something I read about someone’s final words (all while driving my little 15 minute to work). We work so hard to achieve monetary wealth; this physical life with physical problems.
Why are we born naked, in such a primitive, dirty way? Why then, are we meant to suck our mother’s breast for food, made to get warm with skin to skin contact and suck poison with our mouths when the bee stings?

The Bay Leaf

The bay leaf, berries of laurel, laurel leaves…oh, where to begin. I LOVE bay leaves. They smell wonderful, they hold their shape when dried and they add a great flavor to food!

This little leaf holds history that not many herbs can stand up against. Through out history and over the years, the bay laurel tree has been known to symbolize honor. The Greeks and Romans have used this herb to recognize scholar achievements and contributions. Even now, we see laurel wreathes honoring winners of athletic events and in our Olympics!

The bay leaf has many important metaphysical properties.
Use to cleanse a space, cast an intention to protect, or include in your dream pillow to enhance your psychic awareness (which we all have). They increase positive healing energy and ward off negative energy. Burn bay leaves after a passing illness to purify a space and kick out any lingering illness.
I personally use them under my pillow at night to help with a good and deep sleep. I dab a little awareness oil (my own recipe) on the leaf that mostly consists of calendula flowers. My visions come to me during sleep, so nice vivid dreaming is always welcome. I also use them to compel my hopes and wishes. Continue reading “The Bay Leaf”

Rose Buds

Roses are used in beauty products such as serums, hydrosols, aromatherapy, and of course, teas. Rose Essential Oil have natural antifungal, antibacterial, and antiviral properties. However…the oil is extremely expensive. It takes A LOT of roses to produce a few drops of oil, so here are a few tricks to achieve some of the same benefits using whole dried rose buds. My Zen

20160802_103607[1]Over the years I’ve found things that calm my mind and my spirit. I have learned that “my own little hell” was actually several life lessons; pieces of a puzzle I don’t get to see yet. I get angry for having to go through a hardship and then I get angry again for understanding why I had to experience that hardship.
Eventually the dust settles and then all seems okay again…until life decides to throw the next curveball. Continue reading “My Zen”

The Real Deal on Potty Training: The Pee Spot

Soooo, The Pee Spot post is definitely a shared experience between many parents, or persons with children of extended periods of time. This one’s for you…because I GET IT!

Potty training is always a battle and a party at the same time.
Please be advised, the following monologue HAS happened and happens again and again and again…

“Do you need to go potty?”
“Do you need to go potty?”
“Lilliana…are you going potty?!?”
“Run to the potty!”

Idiots & Real Sugar

I have made time over the last week to reflect. On what? Everything.

The food we eat
The shoes on my feet
My job
The words I choose to use
The amount of sleep I get

EVEN

If I should use real sugar or splenda in my coffee…
